AMERICA'S DECISION TOKEN PAYMENTS ACCEPTABLE Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, May 10. (Received May 11, at 10 a.m.) The United States has informed European debtor nations that the Government will accept token payments offered on June 15, but those countries will not escape the ; provision of the Johnson Act debarring credit transactions with foreign nations. The Government’s attitude is that any tokens offered will be accepted, but neither the President nor the State Department will give the nations any assurance that they are not in default.
