LETTER TO COUNCIL . W. J. JARVIS'S OMISSION Following receipt of telegraphic advice from the secretary of the' New Zealand Olympic Council that it could not include W. J. Jarvis in the New Zealand team for the Empire Gamea the secretary of the Otago Swimming Centre has now written to the secretary of the New _ Zealand Amateur Swimming Association asking the Swimming Council to voice its protest in view of Jarvis’s great performances recently and having regard to the centre’s willingness to raise the money in Dunedin. It has been pointed out that even yet something might be done if the_ Swimming Council supported his nomination to the Olympic Council strongly enough, and tlie Otago Centre would still' bo prepared to make a hurried ap. peal for funds.
