GIRL WITH MANY KEYS JOHN DILLINGER’S ESCAPE. NEW YORK, April 29. Evelyn Frechette, friend of the notorious criminal John Dillinger, has provided the key to the business of getting into and escaping from American gaols. She seems to have had the keys to the gaols. When arrested the girl possessed a suspiciously large number of keys, and when St. Paul police questioned her beyond endurance she defiantly dared them to try one set on the Hollywood Police Station. Sure enough, they perfectly fitted the door of the Hollywood _ Detective Bureau and “ other strategic places,’’ both in. the Hollywood and Los Angeles Courts of Justice. It is suspected that the girl used a key to get into Crown Point Gaol to furnish Dillinger with a wooden pistol. Officials there, however, claim that they did not recognise her among recent callers. The girl has the blood of North American Indians running through her veins: Only twenty-four, she is equipped with such a keen mentality that detectives have been unable to get any information from her except what she really wished to impart. She is fanatically loyal to Dillinger.
