IMPRESSIONS OF AUSTRALIA
SIR HAROLD BEAUCHAMP’S VISIT [Peh United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 9. Sir Harold Beauchamp has returned from Australia, In an interview he referred to the happy, carefree population, but said that one must not lose sight of the fact that thoughtful men were viewing with a certain amount of perturbation the imposition of quotas. Referring to wool production, he quoted figures supporting the contention that it was only a question of time when the demand for wool would scarcely equal the supply. He said he was unfavourably _ struck with _ Canberra, which he visited, both climatically and as a planned town.
