GOOD TEMPLARY

The Star of Victory Temple, No. 31, met on Monday. April 23, in the Kaikorai S.S. Hall. Sister Mrs Flett, S.J.W., was in charge, and C.T. Bro. M- Steel presided over the meeting. Bro. Ray Foster; chaplain, Sister Agnes Steel; assistant secretary, Bro. J. Kennedy; organist, Bro. J. Flett. Bros. Hilton and Scott and Sister Williamson spoke to the members. Star of Freedom Lodge met on Monday, April 23, In the Kaikorai S.S. Hall. C.T. Sister Mrs Flett presided oyer a fair attendance of members, and visitors from the Rescue and Hope of Dunedin Lodges. The officers remain the same for next term. A new member was initiated. Letters of sympathy were sent to the relatives of late Bro. Stanley; also to Hope of Caversham Lodge. Bro. Dalton, P.G.C.T., gave part of his report on his visit to Grand Lodge, held in Wellington recently. Hope of Caversham Lodge, No. 128, 1.0.G.T., held its weekly meeting in the Baxter Hall on Thursday evening. Bro. Seque presided over a good attendance of members. During the evening Sister Pauli, L.D., assisted by Bro. Emerson and Bro. C. Gough, installed the newly-elected officers for the quarter. After business was completed. Sister Pauli, assisted by Sis. Hallas and other members, carried out a programme of “ May Day ” games, including a description of some of the ancient rites in England and Scotland on the May Day festival, most of which have now fallen into disuse. Supper was banded round, after which the lodge was closed Jibe Hope of Dunedin Lodge, No. 55, held its weekly session in the Radiant Health Hall, St. Andrew street, on May 2. C.T. Sister Beath opened the meeting at the usual time. Several officers were absent through sickness. Correspondence was received from the grand secretary. A report on the state of the juvenile temple was given by Sister Wright, the assistant superintendent of juvenile works. The lodge was closed with the usual ceremonies.
