RAYHER RETAINS TITLE [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, May 8. Clarrie Rayner successfully defended the New Zealand professional feather, weight championship to-night against the challenge of Percy Hawes in a fif-teen-round contest. The fight went the lull distance. Hawes put Rayner down lor the count of live soon after the first gong, but Rayner recovered from the mishap and won handsomely on points.
