A poor woman who was digging in ruins near Mominabad, an ancient, military encampment, found a brass vessel filled with gold coins valued at nearly £4,000. She and her husband melted the gold into bars. Their sudden accession of wealth ■ aroused suspicions, and the police arrested them. It is alleged that they gave officials hush money, and the latter have _ been suspended pending an investigation.
