ACTION BY BRITAIN QUOTAS THREATENED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 3. The ‘ Morning Post ’ says: “As a result of negotiations between the Government, Crown colony administrators, and Lancashire industrialists an agreement has been reached to restrain Japanese competition in textiles by means of quotas. It is belicyed that Mr Runciman (president of the Board of Trade) will to-day inform Mr Matsudaira that he will he compelled to put quotas into operation, failing an agreement.
