SCRATCH BECOMES ULCER
WOOL WORKER CONTRACTS ANTHRAX REGULATIONS TO BE FRAMED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, May 3. (Received May 3, at 10 a.m.) About fourteen days ago, while handling wool at the Botany scouring works, Walter Cooper, aged twentyfour, scratched his left.arm. A small eruption appeared, and some hours later he became ill, and slightly delirious. The eruption had become an ulcer. Cooper had contracted anthrax. He is now in hospital recovering after injections of anti-anthrax serum. The Minister of Health (Mr Weaver) is having regulations framed to lessen the dangers of workers among articles which may cause anthrax.
