(Received May 3, at 1 p.m.) It is reported that the Japanese Aluminium Company, operating in Formosa has agreed to take nearly 24,000 tons of bauxite yearly, yielding 6,000 tons of aluminium, from the Dutch Nibam Company, which is working deposits on the island of Bintang, near Singapore, enabling Japan to bo largely independent of America in the preparation ,of aluminium for aeroplanes.
