THE DAIRY COMMISSION

APPOINTMENT TO SECRETARIAT [Per United Press Association.] : WELLINGTON, May 2. The announcement was made by the Prime Minister (Mr Forbes), that Mr H. L. Wise, M.Com., A.R.A.N.Z., had been appointed to the secretariat ot the Royal Commission to investigate the dairy industry. Mr Wise is district officer of the Department of Industries and Commerce at Wellington. Prior to joining the Government service he had had considerable commercial experience, being ‘for thirteen years associated with one of the largest exporters of primary produce in New Zealand. He is an accountant by examination, a bellow ot the Royal Economic Society, a member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, and of the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand. He completed the degree of master of commerce at Canterbury College in 1924 with first-class honours in economics and economic history. Since joining the'staff of the Department of Industries and Commerce in 1929, Mr Wise has been engaged particularly in dealing with matters affecting the Government’s . association with the export industries, the development of overseas markets, shipping facilities, and similar subjects. He recently acted as a member of the special set np by the, Government to inquire into the question of New Zealand’s coinage and currency.
