DRAINAGE BOARD
YEAR’S ESTIMATES PASSED PORTION OF WAGE GUT RESTORED A special meeting of the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board was held last evening, the Mayor (Rev. 15. T. Cox) presiding. , fn connection with the estimates for tile year ended March 31, 1933, Cr J. J. Marlow moved and Cr H. C. Campbell seconded:—-“That the estimates as now submitted be approved, and that the statutory resolution fixing the board’s rates at Is 4d in the £ in the sewered area, 8d in the £ in the unsewered area, and 2d in the £ in the outer drainage area, and directing that such rates be levied and collected by the local authorities in the district—viz., the Dunedin City Council and the St. Kilda Borough Council—be now passed. The motion was carried. Cr Marlow also moved that the board restore 2\ per cent, of the 10 per cent, cut on employees’ wages. This was seconded by Cr Campbell, and as an amendent Cr J. L. M'lndoe moved that the matter of the restoration of the cut ho held over until the next meeting of the board. Cr G. Glue seconded the amendment, which was lost by 5 votes to 3. The motion was then carried.
