AUSTRALIAN CUP TO HEROIC PRINCE LLOYD STAKES TO CLOSING TIME Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, March 11. . The weather was warm and there was a good attendance for the third day of the Victoria Racing Club’s autumn meeting. Bobbagee led for the last two miles iu the Autumn Hurdle Handicap, and had a comfortable win. He did his early racing in Tasmania, and is now owned and trained by W. Burke. Arachne had a comfortable will in the Ascotvale Stakes. She cost 75gns as a yearling, and has now had three wins and a second in four starts. She is one of the best fillies of recent years, and her meeting with Sir John at Randwick is awaited with interest. Closing Time led always in the C. M. Lloyd Stakes, and won comfortably.

Her owner-trainer, J. T. Jamieson, had a previous success with Ammon Ra. The conditions of the race favoured the winner, who received a stone from Kuvera on account of not having won a weight-for-age race valued at sUUsovs. Heroic Prince was fourth last at the mile post, and finished brilliantly in the Cup. Ellis gave Peter Jackson every show, .but he was beaten by a better horse. Gippsland finished well and beat the pacemaker, Distant, for place honours. Heroic Prince was formerly trained by Holt for Air C. B. Kellow. He cost bis present ownertrainer, H. Leek, 900gns about twelve months ago. . Leek had a, second in the Cup with Mira Donna two years ago. Foursome made a great effort to repeat his Newmarket success in the Leonard Stakes, but was beaten in the last fifty yards. The winner, Rapsoiiia, will probably go to Sydney for the Don-' caster. High Degree, trained by the New Zealander, J. T. Jamieson, finished brilliantly in the Farewell Handicap, and credited his sire. Heroic, with his second win of the afternoon.
