A ZANE GREY STORY
‘THE LAST TRAIL’ FOR STRAND ~ ‘The Last Trail,’ the Zane Grey romance that begins a season at the Strand to-morrow, must be put down as one of the finest films ever offered George O’Brien. It has sizzling speed, break-neck action, tender romance, and hilarious comedy. The film is a Western only in that its locale represents the plains of. the West. But the plot has a central theme that involves adventures and intrigue or a truly cosmopolitan nature. It depicts the transference of racketeering methods from beer-running in the big city to cattle-rustling on the plains. It reveals a new type of opposition to “hijacking”—the daring opposition of men who face danger daily and to whom the bravado of racketeers is mere child’s play. O’Brien does some of the hardest riding and most daring fighting he has ever presented, and proves himself more than ever the premier exponent of Western roles. The lovely Claire Trevor, featured with O’Brien in his last picture, ‘ Life in the Raw,’ also has the leading feminine role in The Last Trail.’
