FRENCH GOLD A REPORT DENIED. PARIS, February 6. The report that France contemplates* raising the selling price of gold is denied. Such a step would be in direct opposition to. her policy. I’hete are no signs of any real anxiety, and the steady drain of gold holdings was fully expected. The financial paper, ‘ L’lnformation,’ says the Bank of France is able to lose a further £30,000,000 to £60,000,000 of paper money without weakening 'the position.
