(Received February 6, at 1 p.m.) Mr Hirota (Minister of Foreign Affairs) informed members of the Lower House that India’s drastic raising of her tariff on miscellaneous goods during the cotton negotiations in December t was astonishing,- but he had confidence i in India’s pledge to make adequate adjustment. ~ A member denounced India 8 disregard of international justice, and said that failure to negotiate for amelioration of the tariff on miscellaneous good# would throw 600,000 workers idle.
