AMATEUR CYCLING NEWLY-FORMED ASSOCIATION THE QUESTION OF HEADQUARTERS. [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, February 6. ■ The question of where the headquarters of the newly-formed New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association should bo located was again discussed at a meeting of the Canterbury Centre. The subject was introduced when a letter was received from the secretary of the association in Wellington, stating that riders’ licenses were available. Mr T. Grose questioned Wellington’s authority to issue licenses. Unless it was definitely established who comprised the controlling body and where the headquarters of cycling was going to he centred, the licenses could not he official. The meeting decided to send two delegates to discuss the question with the officials in Wellington. • It was decided to protest against the holding of the New Zealand championships on a grass track. The Australian professional lightweight, Jack Fitzgerald, imported by the Wellington' Boxing Association, arrived by the Monowai this morning, and goes into training immediately for his bout with Archie Hughes in the Town Hall on , Monday. Fitzgerald says that, though the trip was fairly rough, it did not upset him, and he is in the best of condition.
