THE LEG THEORY
WILL IT BE ABAMEQ? THE BRADMAIRARWOOD DUEL Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 4. (Received February 5, at 11.30 a.m.) An epic of the Bradman-Larwood duel will be refought in 1934 (says the ‘ Sunday Times ’). The only doubt about Bradman is his vulnerability against the best and deadliest fast bowling, and Larwood bowling legtheory will necessarily prove this. Bradman will not make centuries by running away’ and slashing across balls on the leg stump. Many think that the leg theory will be abandoned, but it will be employed if it promises to be a success and does not savour of undue intimidation. Any bowler sufficiently fast can intimidate almost any batsman when he makes a target of his legs and emphasises his intentions with a cordon of leg fieldsmen. The Australians would have us believe they suffered thereby from Larwood, but we do not accept the correctness of their version.
