SERUM TREATMENT
CONSIDERABLE ADVANCE MADE [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 5. Returning to Australia after a visit' to England, Europe, and America, wheie ho was sent by the Commonwealth Government to' study the latest developments in serum treatment,- Dr F. G. Morgan, of the Commonwealth serum laboratories, Parkville, Victoria, is a through passenger by the Maunganui to Sydney. . Interviewed, he said that during the past ten years serum treatment for diseases had advanced considerably, but only through intense research work, both, in connection with the prevention and cure _of diseases. Diseases due to filtrable viruses, organism's, or germs so small that they could not be detected by ordinary methods were receiving particular attention in all the great centres of medical research. In this category were such diseases as influenza, encephalitis, yellow fever, and infantile paralysis, etc. He said that the results of his toiu* were highly satisfactory.
