BILLIARDS CHAMPIONSHIP
LONDON, February 2. It is understood that Davis is communicating with Lindrum regarding the venue of the billiards championship. It seems to be taken for granted that if Lindrum enters, as Tie must, he, M'Conachy, and Davis, and possibly Newman, will all vote to play in Australia. The ‘ Daily Herald ’ says that if Lindrum does not enter for the championship, entries for which close in a fortnight, he will automatically cease to be champion. The secretary of the Billiards Council hopes that Lindrum will do the right thing. If the worst comes to the worst and he still refuses to return the cup, “ we have no option but to take drastic steps to recover it.”
