One of the oldest and best known hairdressing .and tobacconist businesses in Dunedin is that now conducted by Messrs Bryant and MVKillop at 69 Princes street (east side, near Dowling street), and although there have been several changes in proprietorship since its foundation fifty years ago the essential soundness and efficiency have been maintained. Mr D. Rose with different partners held sway from the outset until seven years ago, and the present senior partner, Mr Robert Bryant, has been operating as assistant or part proprietor for thirty-five years. Mr P. L, M'Killop, the latest partner, is m charge of the tobacconist department. The present staff of four skilled assistants are all employees of many years standing. Recognising the necessity for expanding the business and with considerable faith in the future, Messrs Bryant and M'Killop have now, in addition to completely renovating the gentlemen’s departments, incorporated a ladies’ hairdressing saloon, thus creating'most attractive and up-to-date premises. Both saloons are fitted with the latest steel furniture of a type to be seen nowhere else in Dunedin and the finest equipments, while the beauty of the decorations is undoubted. The stocks carried in the tobacconist department, too, are such as will meet the requirements of all types of smokers. This reconstructed business, which stands as of old on its own and has no branches, is now open to its old clients and to the many new ones who will undoubtedly be attracted thereto. —£Advt-l
