“ J.C.5.,” Dunedin, writes;— “ Could you tell me the reason of sudden. increases of volume, in my electric set. This occurs on and oft all the time. I blamed the earth, attached to the water pipe, as the house lighting will be also earthed there, but since placing a separate earth in the ground ii has made no improvement.” The trouble will probably be found ill'the aerial. Either there is a poor connection Somewhere in the aerial itself, or there is a break under the covering Of the lead-in.
