LONDON WOOL SALES. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office, under date 2nd inst.:— The sales have closed with medium and coarse cross-brcds about 15 per cent below opening rates, all other descriptions 5 per cent, below. Greasy merinos, 60/64’s, ISfd to 19Jd per To; ordinary, 60/64’s, 16jd to 17-id; inferior, 6U/64’s, 13d to 14d. Half-breds, 56’s, 17-fd to 18id ; 50/60’s, 14d to lad. Crossbreds, 50’s, lid to 12(1; 4S/50’s, lOd to lid; 46/48’s, !)d to 9Jd ; 44/46’s to 9id: 40/44’s, Sid to 91 d ; 33/40’s, B}d to 9d.” Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. Ltd. have received the following woo! market cablegram from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Elder Ltd.,' dated the 2nd inst.;— Sales have • Hosed with a good tone, competition good, Bradford and German ' buyers principal buyers. Compared with last London sales closing rates, greasy merino, wool suitable for Yorkshire, advanced 5 per cent, to 30 per cent. Woo) suitable for the Continent advanced 7.V per cent, to 10 per cent. Merino pieces and bellies show the greatest advance. Lambs, merino greasy, advanced 10 per cent, to 15 per cent. ; scoured merino best advanced 10 per cent, lo 15 per cynt. ; scoured merino, other descriptions, advanced 15 par cent, to 20 per cent. ; cross-bred greasy market, irregular; cross-bred ■ greasy comeback, advanced 30 jier font, to 15 per cent.; cross-bred greasy fine, advanced 10 per cent, io 15 per ’ cent. ; cross-bred greasy medium, advanced 5 per cent. ■. cross-bred-greasy coarse, advanced 5 per cent, to 10 per cent.; best descriptions show the greatest advance; cross-bred scoured line, advanced 15 per cent', to 20 per cent; other descriptions advanced 10 per cent, to 15 per cent.; slipe cross-bred advanced 15 per cent. LONDON PRODUCE MARKET. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office, under date 2nd inst- : Frozen meat: for wethers demand and prices are steady. There is a moderate demand for ewes, and prices are firm. The lamb market is inclined to become weaker as supplies are more than sufficient to meet the demand. Trade generally is slow. Wethers—Light, oid to 6d per lb; heavy, 4Jd to s§d per lb. Ewes, 3d to 4|d per lb. Lambs—Twos, 7id to 7-jjd per lb; eights, 7-Jd to "id per lb; seconds, 6gd to 6§d per lb. BELL-HOOPER RETURN.
