LONG POINT TRAGEDY
BDOY OF MR SPROAT RECOVERED The improvement in the weather conditions along the coast has enabled a large party ,of searchers to drag in a systematic manner for. the bodies of,, the three men who were drowned at Long Point. The body of Charles John Cdiinell was found on Tuesday,' and; early yesterday afternoon a party of police and civilians, who were dragging the water with lines, recovered the body of Gordon Sproat. The body was found close to the place where the tragedy occurred, and it is anticipated that the third body, that of George Gibb Mensies, will also he located in the same vicinity. Art inquest on the body of Mr Sproat was opened this afternoon. - Au inquest on C. J. Connell s was opened yesterday afternoon at Owaka before Mr A. J. Brough, J.P., and a jury of four. Evidence of identification was given by, , George FFraser, the deceased’s partner, and tha inquiry was adjourned sine die.
