BRITISH RATIONALISATION SCHEME SUBMITTED TO TARIFF BOARD Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, LONDON, January 30. The 1 Daily Telegraph ’ says a vast rationalisation scheme for the iron and steel industry, probably the most farreaching ever undertaken in Britain, has been submitted by the Tariff Advisory Board. It proposes to create an all-inclusive iron and steel federation for which a royal charter will be sought. Thanks to the protective duty the pig-iron production increased last year by 15 per cent, and steel by 30 per cent. •
