ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
ATTACKED BY A BOAR. While penning pigs at the Feilcfing show, Mr A. C. Buist (a steward) was attacked by a boar and received severe lacerations, to one leg, necessitating his removal to hospital. DROWNED IN RIVER. James Hemmings, aged 32, of Invercargill, was drowned while bathing in the Mataura River at Wyndham at 7.30 last night. DEATH OF INFANT. The circumstances touching the death of a newly-born infant, whose mother, was taken to the hospital yesterday.are such that an inquest was opened at the Morgue this morning before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M. The inquiry was adjourned' pending the results or a post-mortem examination.
