Lythgoe, a noted Egyptologist, who was present at the opening of the inner chamber of King ‘Tutankhamen's tomb in 1923, died on Monday at Boston. [A message from Boston on January 25 stated:—The legend of “Pharaoh’s curse ” was revived to-day when it was revealed that Dr Albert Lythgoe, curator emeritus at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, was in hospital here, suffering from a baffling malady. Dr Lythgoe was present when Lord Carnarvon opened the tomb of Tutankhamen. His condition is critical.]
