RIFLE SHOOTING
DUNEDIN DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club shot the first competition for 'prizes presented by ■the president (Mr- W. Bannennan) on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of twenty-one, and seven shots (two optional -sighters) were fired at 300yds, 500yds, and 600yds. _ Weather conditions were fair, with variable wind and liwh’t ■ At 300vds Rifleman G. H. Smith and Rifleman. J, M'Knight, with 33 each, were the highest scorers.' At 500yds Gaptairt Cowie and Rifleman W. A. Graham were best, with'33 each. At 600vds Rifleman G. H. Smith was top with 32, and lie also headed the day’s aggregate with 96. The club’s range badge is held by Rifleman \V. A. Graham, with 282. Following are the highest scores, with aggregates; —
