MOSGIEL FIRE BOARD
The Mosgiel Fire Board’s meeting at Mosgiel yesterday afternoon was attended by Messrs A. F. Gheyne (chairman), A. F. Quolch, J. F. Frew, J. R. Callander, and S. B. Macdonald. The Secretary submitted to the board a survey plan of the land in Cargill street which it was desirous of purchasing for a site suitable for the fire station. A letter was read from the Public AVorks Department giving its consent to the sale of its land to the board for the fire station site.
Tho Superintendent of the Volunteer Brigade forwarded a report on its activities since last meeting. Members had attended six fire calls, but no extensive damage bad been done. The brigade was now practising in preparation for the Easter demonstrations at Oamaru. The board resolved -to thank the superintendent and members of the brigade for the manner in which they had carried out their duties during the past year.
