MAORI KING
CEREMONIAL VISIT TO RATANA VILLAGE EUROPEAN VISITORS DEBARRED [Per United Press Association.] WANGANUI, January 24. The Maori king Koroki is expected to arrive at Ratana at 7 o’clock tomorrow morning on his first visit to the Ratana village. He will be accompanied by a party of approximately 500 of the AVaikato tribe. It is estimated that 3,000 followers of Ratana will be assembled for _ the royal welcome, and the celebrations will include a sports gathering on Friday, instead of the customary sports on Ratana’s birthday, which will occur to-morrow. European visitors will not be allowed in the village in the meantime.
