ZENITH SWIMMING GALA
What promises to be a most interesting and spectacular swimming carnival will be staged at the Y.M.C.A. Baths to-night, commencing at 7.45, by the Zenith Amateur Swimming Club. Although i his is tho first year of its existence, Zenith has thoroughly organised this fixture, which should be a great success. Over 200 entries have been received for the various events, including such swimmers as the Jarvis brothers, Reg. Geddes, G. Field, R. H. Nuttall, J. O. Byrnes. A team of six swimmers from Oamaru and two from Invercargill will also take part. Great interest will centre round tho 100yds event, in which G. Field, W, J. Jarvis, and S. Jarvis will meet. Another attraction will be the four-a-side tug-of-war, which should provide some strenuous tussles. There are fourteen teams entered for the four-a-side relay handicap, teams from Zenith, Kiwi, Dunedin, St. Clair, St. Hilda, and Oamaru, and this event should be closely contested.
