SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LEIPZIG, January 16. Ludwig Renn, the novelist, _ was sentenced to thirty months’ imprisonment, less eleven months already served, for publishing an article corruptive of military and police discipline. [A previous cable message read as follows:—The famous novelist, Ludwig Renn, whose book ‘ War,’ depicting the worst horrors of battle, was publicly burned last year, will be charged -with high treason at Leipzig to-morrow. Renn is not a Jew, but a scion of a noble Saxon family. His real name is Arnold von Golssenau. Ho served throughout the war and became a battalion commander.]
