BRITISH BALLOON ASCENT Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 17. \ The Army Air Corps and the National' Geographic Society announce that they are jointly sponsoring an attempt to set a stratosphere record next sum-’ mer with the largest balloon ever constructed. It will have a gas capacity of 3,000,000,000 cubic feet and it is expected to rise fifteen miles.
