A civic welcome was given at Wellington yesterday to the party of fortytwo visitors from, Victoria, mostly members of the Victoria Scottish Union. The Minister in charge of the Tourist Department (Hon. A. Hamilton) extended a welcome on behalf of the Government. He said that such visits helped greatly to advertise the scenic attractions of New Zealand. Senator Plain, returning thanks, gave an assurance that the party had spent a very happy time in New Zealand. He made reference to the need for an extension of the Australian and New Zealand markets for primary industries, and emphasised the possibilities for increased trade with Great Britain.
