GUARD ON EMDEN BELL SYDNEY, January 2. The Emden bell, recovered in a park in, Melbourne and back in Sydney, will be so secured at the Australian War Museum, the authorities state, that it will never be stolen again. The bell will be kept stored in a secret place by the police and naval authorities until preparations have been completed for its return and exhibition at the War Museum. “ The public will have to wait a little while before the bell can be seen,’’ said the museum curator, Mr L. J. Bain. “ We have yet to work out all the details of the plan for ensuring its safety,” he said, “ and believe me, when again it is shown it will not be stolen in a hurry.” > Questioned, regarding the precautions that would be taken, Mr Bain said: “ That is our little secret. Our plans are not complete, but we are marking doubly sure this time. “ Once the Emdeiv bell is placed m the museum it will never come out again- , , , , “ When it is on view those who look at it will not know all the precautions that will have been taken. 1 -
