THE PLUNKET SOCIETY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In reply to “ Cricket’s ” letter of January 12, I should like to state that I entirely disagree with the statement that it would be adding insult to injury to ask Miss Pattrick to resume her duties. It is to be remembered that out of all the P.lrtnket nurses Miss Pattrick was selected by Sir Truby King as the one specially qualified for the position of director. Indeed, X believe it is a fact that (Sir Truby King refused to accept England’s request for his services unless he had as his two assistants, his wife (Lady King) and Miss Pattrick. Surely therefore the public has a right to demand that Miss Pattrick give :her services until such time as a suitable successor is trained.—l am, etc. January 15. . Taxpayer.
