ONLY THREE MOURNERS
VAN DER LUBBE BURIED AT LEIPZIG NO CLERGYMAN PRESENT Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 15. (Received January 16, at 1 a.m.) Van der Lubbe was buried l in the cemetery at Leipzig. There were only three mourners—his step-brother, his brother-in-law, and the Dutch Consul. No clergyman was present. Wreaths from relatives covered the coffin, which was lowered into the grave after the step-brother had spoken a few words of farewell. The grave-digger read the Lord’s Prayer. The two relatives returned to Holland by -the motor lorry on which it was intended to convey the body to Holland, but the authorities declined to permit this on the ground that it might cause an anti-Nazi demonstration abroad.
