WAS IT SUICIDE?
THE CHAMONIX TRAGEDY MADAME STAVISKY'S DOUBTS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, January 14. The ‘ Daily Mail’s ’ Paris correspondent 5 says Madame Stavisky now believes that her husband did not commit suicide and she may demand an inquiry. She declares-that the police delayed Stavisky’a removal to hospital for two hours. She failed to recognise the revolver on the bed as her husband’s, with which she was familiar.
Stavisky, in a letter to his son, gave his age as forty-five, whereas he was actually forty-seven. People are asking why the error if he really wrote the letter.
