NAVAL REDUCTIONS
NETHERLANDS COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATIONS preM Association—By Telegraph—-Copyright. THE HAGUE, January 14. A royal commission has reported to Queen Wilhemina in favour of reorganising and halving the navy. The Government is expected to adopt the recommendations, which cover retention of the Helder naval base and the abandonment of those at Amsterdam and Flushing, the halving of the naval personnel, the dissolving of the marine corps, and the demolition of obsolete ships and war material, thus effecting large savings.
