The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay;— The depression which has been mentioned in the forecasts of the past few days continues to move slowly away, but a series of secondary depressions has followed it, and the last of these has still to cross the dominion. Forecast: West to south winds, strong at times about Foveaux Strait, otherwise smooth to moderate. Weather, mainly fair to cloudy, but showery at times, especially in coastal areas. Seas, rather rough in Foveaux Strait, elsewhere moderate, with a southerly swell. SAlLED.—January 15. Holmdale, s.s. (11 p.m.), 681 tons, Copland, for Wanganui via ports. Opihi, s.s. (11.30 p.m.), 1,117 tons, Evans, for New Plymouth via ports. ARRlVED.—January 16. Wainui, s.s. (5.30 a.m.), 1,632 tons, Howie, from Melbourne via Bluff. COASTWISE MOVEMENTS. Totara, is due this afternoon with coal from Westport, She is to sail on Thursday for Timaru, Lyttelton, and New Plymouth. Waimarino, was to leave Lyttelton to-day for Dunedin and Bluff. She is due to-morrow, and is to sail later in the day for the south, returning on Saturday morning to load for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Poolta. is to leave Wellington on Friday for Dunedin direct. She is due on Sunday and is to sail on Tuesday for Napier and Gisborne via ports. Wingatui, is to leave Auckland on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due on February 1. „ Kini, is to leave Westport on Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Oamaru, and Dunedin. She is to load on January 29 for Nelson and New Plymouth via ports. • Holmdale, sailed last night for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Opihi, arrived yesterday morning and sailed in the evening for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth, WAIKOUAITI TO SAIL. The Waikouaiti is to sail at 6 p.m. to-day for Timaru and Lyttelton, thence Bluff and Sydney. WAINUI FROM MELBOURNE. The Wainui arrived from Melbourne via Bluff this morning, and sailed in the afternoon for Lyttelton and Wellington. She will then proceed to Bluff and Melbourne. KARETU ON THURSDAY. The Karetu, with cargo from the East, was scheduled to leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due on Thursday. ■ INTERISLAND SERVICE. The interisland express steamer Rangatira arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.50 a.m. to-day. Passengers and mail for the south connected with the express. ABEL TASMAN FOR AUCKLAND. , Advice has been received by cable that the Abel Tasman loaded at New South Wales ports and left Sydney on Friday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is expected at this port about January 24. ALL WELL ON TAINUI. A report from the Tainui, which left Port Chalmers for Southampton and London via Panama on January 6, states that fine weather has been experienced since leaving port, and all are well. UANGITATA TO SAIL. Advice has been received from the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Rangitata is now to clear Auckland for London via Panama on Friday PORT HUON WITH WOOL. The C. and D. motor vessel Port Huon arrived at London from Auck land on January 7. Her cargo of wool was included in the January London wool sales. ,

PLUME RENAMED. The tanker Ahamo, the identity of which had puzzled Harbour Board and shipping officials since the announcement of her expected arrival at Lyttelton, arrived yesterday morning from Palembang (Sumatra) via Auckland. The Ahamo,proved to be no stranger to the port, for she is the Vacuum Oil Company’s former tanker, Plume. The vessel has only recently changed her name—the latest Sydney ‘ Shipping List ’ available, January 5, still has her listed as the . Plume, and she retains the Vacuum Company’s sign of V on the funnel. She is registered at Hong Kong. The Ahamo is to discharge motor spirits for the Atlantic Union Oil Company, and is to sail to-morrow for Wellington, thence Newcastle. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
