NEW BLOCK OF FLATS
LARGEST IN EUROPE A block of flats and shops, to be named Latymer court, which will cost nearly £500,000, is to be built in London. ' When completed, it is stated, the structure will be the largest single block of flats in Europe. It will contain 300 flats and thirty shops. The new building is to be erected on a site of three and a-quarter acres, having a frontage of 545 ft. Fifteen houses stand now on the site. A private motor road is to run under tire flats, giving the shops additional entrances and display windows, and allowing tenants to shop under cover. The flats, ranging from two to six rooms, are to be let. at rentals from £IOO a year upwards, inclusive. They will 'be served by thirty electric lifts, and each flat will have an-automatic house telephone installation. A large ranirp of lock-up garages is to lie provided.
