OBITUARY
MR A. LECKIE The death occurred yesterday of Mr Archibald Leckie at the age of seventynine years. The deceased came to New Zealand from Scotland seventy-two years ago, and for very manv years wag employed as a bushman. In his younger days he was recognised as one of tho best axemen in tho dominion, and, though he did not participate actively in boxing, he was always interested in tho sport, at which two of his sons, Messrs Jim Leckie and Mat. Leckie, won many honours. The former wag undefeated in the ring, and was at ona time New Zealand amateur bantam, weight champion. Mr Leckie is sur. vived by his widow, three sons, and two daughters.
