NORTH-EAST HARBOUR CLUB The North-east Harbour Boating Club held its annual prize distribution and social in the boat shed on Saturday evening. There was a largo attendance of members and several visitors from other boating clubs in the harbour. In the absence of tho commodore of the club (Captain E. R. Nicholas) owing to illness, tho vicecominodoro (Mr J. P. Vivian) presided. The Chairman, after referring to the illness of Captain Nicholas and expressing the hope of members of the club and all boating men that he would soon recover, expressed appreciation of the work of the committee, tho ladies, the secretary and treasurer, and the club captain. Ho also thanked Messrs H. A. Robinson, A. W. Hazelwood, and W. Symonds, owners of the launches Marewa, Stella, and Dawn respectively, and also other owners, for their attendance at club races and assistance in making these events a success. Mr Stockbridgo, of H.M.A.S. Australia, presented the prizes to the skippers and owners of boats who were successful in winning club races last season as follows: Harbour Race: Dawn (H. Noes, shield and pennant) 1, Miti (0. Carty) 2, Lark (A. Melville) 3. Commodore’s Cup; Rena (D. Jenkins) 1, Rambler (L. Hogg) 2, Texaco (D. Coutts) 3. All-comers’ Yacht Race: Result (J. Ross) 1 Vera (L. Miller) 2. Club Motor Boat Race: Marewa (H, A. Robinson) 1, Marata (G. Booth) 2, Elliott Cup (yachts): Winifred (1. M'Grath). Club Motor Boat Race; Sylvia (P. Abernethy) 1, Mnrowa (H. A. Robinson ) 2, Wee Mac (C. Thorne) 3. All-comers’ Yacht race: Minnow (W. Hopkins) 1, Vera (L. Miller) 2, Dawn (H. Nees) 3. Strang Cup (yachts): Saskio (R. Davidson). The shield won by the North-east Harbour Boating Club’s tug-of-war team was presented to tho captain (Mr R. V, Hellyer). A card tournament and dance was held, the prizes being won by Miss Yates and Mr A. Cameron and Miss Kellett and Mr Brookes. Mr A. Hellyer was M.C.
