HURRICANE IN MEXICO
DEATH AND DESTRUCTION THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HOMELESS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. TAMPICO, September 17. At least 91 persons were killed in a hurricane which struck here, spreading death and destruction over 300 miles inland.
Delayed despatches from San Luis and Potosi report that 80, and possibly 100 people were drowned in the flood when a dam gave way. More than 100 in other localities were injured. Thousands are homeless. The damage to property is believed to be many millions. ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY DEATHS. . MEXICO CITY, September 17. (Received September 18, at 11.30 a.m.) The hurricane and flood waters, which resulted in over thirty deaths at Tampico, continued in various parts of Northern Mexico. It is estimated that the death roll will exceed 130. Forty bodies are reported to Imre deen recovered in the lowlands following the dam break on the Santiago River near San Luis and Potosi.
