RIOTING REPORTED CLASH WHS AUTHORITIES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, September 15. (Received September 16, at 10 a.m.) There was a recurrence of wholesale violence on the Pennsylvania coalfields, where sixteen men, including the deputy sheriff, were shot and more or less seriously wounded. Governor Pinchot, of Pennsylvania, intimated that he was prepared to declare martial law if necessary.
Federal Councillors have been sent to the scene to attempt to arrive at a .settlement.
