WEDDING

CLARKSON—BOLTON. First Church was the scene of a very pretty -wedding on Thursday, August 31, when the Rev. W. Allen Stovely united in holy matrimony Celia Helen Elizabeth, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs C. A. Bolton, of Cargill road, Dunedin, to Ivan Marcus, second sou of the Rev. and Mrs P. W. Clarkson, of ” Rosewood,” Laguna Beach, California. The church, which was decorated by cousins of the bride, made a fitting setting for the dainty bride, who entered on the arm of her father, gowned in a model frock of white angel skin lace, fitted to the figure and forming a train. Her voil of tulle was arranged from a Juliet cap of lace, and an exquisite bouquet of arum lilies and hyacinths completed a charming toilette. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Lilian M'Clusky, who wore a frock of white laco, pillar box red felt hat, and shoes. Her bouquet was of red geraniums and maidenhair fern, while Miss Doreen Bolton (sister of the bride) made an attractive flower girl in white organdie, white straw picture hat, and a Victorian posy of japonica and lavender primroses. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to Lake’s Restaurant, where they were received by Mrs C. A. Bolton, who wore a becoming frock of brown krinkle crepe and a smart beige hat. She was assisted by Mrs R. L. Clarkson (aunt of the bridegroom), gowned in nigger brown georgette. The tables were decorated with Christmas roses and narcissi, and a splendid three-tier wedding cake held the place of honour. After the breakfast dancing took place until a late hour. When Mr and Mrs Ivan Clarkson left for the north next morning the bride travelled in a frock of red krinkle crepe, with shoes and hat to tone, and a brown fur coat.
