' Weldon's Ladies’ Journal ’ for September is to hand, it contains, among other good things free patterns of two dainty dresses—one with long sleeves and one with epaulettes, also a sun frock. _ The gratis transfer is a most attractive one—a basket of marigolds. In the fashion sction are business girls’ fashions, cruising and beach styles, holiday frocks, dainty aftcrnoon and evening frocks, coats and suits, hats, blouses, lingerie, matrons’ and out-size dresses, and maternity wear. Special features include a holiday article, ‘ What My Baby Means to Me,’ by Helen Twelvetrces; ‘Women Must Work,’ and an .article on running a tea-shop: designing fabrics, and being a kennelmaid. There is also a complete short story by Gilbert Frankau and a short story by Margaret L‘. Malcolm, as well as novels by Ethel M Dell and Denise Dobins. The homo and homecraft section is up to its usual high standard.
