(Received January 25, at 11 a.m.) A visiting Swiss journalist says that there is still hop© that Mr Hinkler may bo marooned in an alpine hut, from which he is unable to communicate with the outside world till the winter passes.

The Hinkler Search Committee has publicly thanked Captain Hope for his gallant and unselfish effort, evidencing a British officer’s loyalty to duty, even at the risk of sacrificing his own life.
