‘DIVORCE IN THE FAMILY’
TENSE DRAMA FOR EMPIRE A film that should find a wide circle of patrons, ' Divorce in the Family,’ will open a season at the Kmpire Theatre on Friday. It is a tense drama of divorce and its effects upon children. It has a particular appeal in that Jackie Cooper, the diminutive hero of ‘ The Champ ’ and ‘ Skippy, 1 takes the central role. There is a remar : r oly fine cast in support of this talon Led juvenile, and the main artists need no introduction to Dunedin audiences. Lewis Stone plays the father and Conrad Nagel the stepfather; Lois Wilson is the mother Jean Parker, Maurice Murphy, Lawrence Grant, and Rich ml Walllacc tire others who contribute to the success of the production. The picture is based on an original story by Maurice Rapf, and was directed byCharles F. Reisnor, who is said to acquit himself oven more creditably than he did in ‘ Caught Short ’ and ‘ Politics,’
