CUP TO BRAMBLETORN The Ashhurst-Pohaiigina Racing Club’s Meeting was held in delightful weather. The course was good after the rain, and the attendance was large. The totalisator handled £<3,589 (win) and £3,108 (place), a total of £6,787, as against £7,095 last year, a decrease of £3OB. Ganpat set a hot pace early, and was attended by Capetown, Arajean; Fiji, and Brambletorn. The last named joined the leader five furlongs from home, and they led to the straight, followed by Habit, Capetown, and Fiji. In a good finish Brambletorn won nicely by over a length from Fiji, which was a neck in front of Ganpat. Grand Jury was fourth. Time, 2min 6 4-ssec. NOVICE STAKES, 60sovs. 6f. Kaihoro and Sir Pombal leading to the straight, where Aston, All Humbug, and False Scent were handy. The last named got through on the rails, and wont on to win easily, Sir Pombal staying on to beat Aston. Leisure was fourth.
